We Use Therapeutic Exercises.
Therapeutic exercises are prescribed by Dynamix physical therapists to complement manual therapy interventions and are a critical component of the rehabilitation process. There are many types of therapeutic exercises including general strengthening, stretching, cardiovascular training, functional training, and sport-specific training to name a few. The prescription of exercises is highly individualized depending on the body part/injury/process involved, the acuity of the injury/symptom presentation, the patient’s age/functional status, and the patient’s goals.
For example, exercises prescribed to a teenage baseball player would be completely different than those prescribed to a 70 year old wishing to be able to work in his/her garden without pain. The potential benefits and goals of an appropriate therapeutic exercise program include decreased pain, improved joint mobility, improved cardiovascular endurance, and overall improvement in function.
